No, this treatment does not generally require any downtime. You may experience some swelling and redness of the the area being treated immediately after having laser hair removal but you will be able to resume your normal activities.

You need to protect your skin from the sun following treatment

Avoid direct sunlight on the treated areas

You cannot use any tanning beds, or any other tanning equipment

Avoid hot tubs, steam rooms and hot steamy showers for the first 24 hours after treatment 

Results vary in each individual

Most people notice a difference within days. The colour and thickness of your hair, area treated all affect the results. You can expect to see a 10-25% reduction in hair growth after your first treatment.

Most people will need a course of 6-8 sessions. Hair will become finer and lighter over time.
